It is, as much, a house as a work of industrial art. The house is built around a large concrete water-way, which was originally part of the Winthrop water supply. That bunker is now the floor of an upper bedroom, as well as the walls of the living room and a second bedroom on the main floor. It is a hand-built, and handmade riverfront pleasure.

Located about 1/3 mile downstream of downtown Winthrop and its iconic old west boardwalk.... it is close, yet private. This is a "one of a kind experience" not to be passed over.

There are two bedrooms The first bedroom includes a queen bed and the second a queen and a bunk bed. The main-floor master has it's own bath, and outside entrance overlooking the river. Full kitchen, internet, unique wood stove, heated floors, patio with picnic table and small propane grill. And if you need a little more room, there is another wondrous house, for friends, called, River Nest. Check it out.

Heated floors were an amazing feature in the winter! The public spaces (dining room, kitchen and living room) were very spacious and accommodating. We appreciated the art vibe, the beautiful view of the river, the fireplace and a well-appointed kitchen. Be sure to scope out all of the nooks and crannies --- we missed the silverware drawer completely (it is on the side of the island). After Central Reservations contacted the owner, silverware was delivered within the day. We finally located the abundantly stocked silverware drawer on our final evening!
